After you're Ayurvedic self-care it's time to grab our journals and get to business. Find a quiet(ish) place to do your practice & connect with source. If you need to do some physical yoga or stretches before sitting, then do what feels good. When you arrive at a comfortable seat, close your eyes and take 5-10 deep breaths with an equal inhale & exhale. Maybe a 4:4 ratio or 8:8 ratio. From here, you can take a few minutes for silent meditation or any meditation you prefer, but let it be at least 5 minutes. Afterwards, feel free to connect to the divine in a few other ways: innvocation or mantra (chanting Om/Aum/Ong); drawing intention/oracle cards; yantra; prayer. I use Doreen Virtue's Goddess and Angel Oracle cards because they resonate with me right now.
Now that you’re cells are harmonizing with a divine frequency, let's add a little more focus; keep it contained. Connecting to Source can feel expansive. Kate Northrup, from Glimpse TV says "When you let spirit take the wheel, things can get big real fast", but we want to use that energy to propel us forward and align it to our current passions. Creating a daily practice will help you raise and aim your energy; you create a daily bandha or energetic lock to direct your energy. It’s time to realign with your purpose or your "Why?". I look at my vision board for the year. I also write out my Core Desired Feelings from the teachings of Danielle LaPorte. You can learn about how to find and understand your core desired feelings in her book, The Desire Map. I also check in with my New Year’s Resolutions. Can you imagine how many more of those you would accomplish if you looked at them everyday? Do you even remember your New Year’s Resolutions? I also realign with my finances. As I mentioned above Kate Northrup is a revolutionary when it comes to apply spiritual practices to every day life. In her book, Money: A Love Story (an incredible book!!!), she suggests remembering that money is just energy and the more we operate from love instead of fear around money, the more money we create. Anyways, after connecting to source and aligning with my intentions, I look at my account balances & say “thank you” even if in the red. I write out my “invoices for blessings received” (another tip from Kate Northrup) & write out any money arriving over the month because what you give your energy to, grows. Now it's time to plan out our day...
